Joint Research between China and the Emirate Ras Al Khaimah in UAE

At the invitation of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Chinese archeological researchers from the Imperial Palace Museum arrived in early February to conduct archaeological research and explore trade relations between China and the UAE via the ancient Silk Road.

The one-month mission period has been focused on drilling and studying at the Al-Nudood site in Ras Al Khaimah, where many small fossils from Chinese Yuan and Ming dynasty, such as porcelain, were extracted.

The Imperial Palace Museum has extensive experience in archaeological research and ancient ceramics. The Department of Antiquities and Museums of Ras Al Khaimah has established a collaborative relationship with the Museum since 2016.
